Animated Coupons w/ vendor customization

March 1, 2012

Coupon site that allowed local registered vendors to use an online interface to create/customize their own coupons using their own information with our online system that used  specially sized/zoned pre-rendered modules with user-defined parameters, colors, backgrounds, etc. Animated coupons were displayed onscreen as seemingly one continuous ‘coupon’ animation, but was rendered as a grid of various Flash/Actionscript .SWF files laid in matrices onscreen (and for output on user’s home printer) retrieved from database system that stored and distributed coupons based on residential data and local vendor participation.

My role was to design the Actionscript parts of the system, the manipulation of graphic elements onscreen for both vendor creation/storage (through .NET side database functionality with values passed from Flash) as well as retrieval of their custom coupons.  I also created a beginning library of re-usable animated Flash modules that users had at their disposal when creating their own online coupons.  I did not do the back-end .NET development on this particular project.

The above image is a still frame screenshot of the home page of the site, which originally was animated with flying coupons and text paragraphs.
